The project needs $ 180,000 before Q1 of 2017, to accomplish the tasks listed below.
Remove exterior additions, windows and interior added walls and concrete.
Secure the building and excavate around building for the move.
Arrange with the Village and DTE to drop traffic signals and electric lines.
Clear the area at the new park location.
Excavate for a foundation in the park.
Move the Depot to the Park.
Build a foundation to the Depot.
Secure for the winter.
Building permits, tap fees, etc.
Why does the Depot need to be moved so quickly?
The Depot is vulnerable to the construction of new apartments. The owner is willing to give us a short timeline to remove the Depot and relocate it. However, time is of the essence!
Who will pay for this project?
This effort will be through donations from people that are interested in saving a piece of history and adding to Milford's charm. This is a rare opportunity for you to preserve an integral piece of Milford history for your own enjoyment and that of future generations. Join us!
What is the donor money being spent on?
Donor money will be spent only on the direct or indirect cost of moving, restoring, and maintaining the Depot.
What happens if you can’t reach your goal?
In the unfortunate event that the project fails to be completed, donors of $100 or more have the option of rolling their donations into the Milford Historical Society's general funds or receiving a pro-rated refund out of the general funds remaining. Donations under $100 will be rolled into the Milford Historical Society's general funds and used for other Milford Historical preservation efforts.
What happens if you raise more than your goal?
That would be great! We actually need more money to continue restoration and installation at the new location.
Specifically, we need to raise $100,000 in donations and grants to complete the project in 2017.

Where is the Depot today?
The Depot is currently located on East Huron Street next to the railroad tracks. Until recently, it was being used as part of Iverson's Lumber Company Office.
Where will you move it?
The Depot will be moved to Milford's Southside Park. Southside Park is a five-acre neighborhood park located on Huron Street, between Main Street and S. Milford Road and is the site of the original 1836 Public Square. In 1982, as part of Milford’s sesquicentennial celebration, a volunteer group built an authentic log cabin in the park to serve as a reminder of early settler’s lives and as a tribute to their practical skills.
What will the depot be used for?
Our mission is to unite the citizens and friends of Milford to preserve the historic Depot as a heritage museum and event/conference center empathizing railroad history and community use.
